Make sure everyone is safe. Keep children, pets, and unnecessary occupants away from potentially affected areas.
Allow authorities to complete their work. When law enforcement, medical examiners, or other authorities are involved, remediation should not disturb an active scene. Cleanup can begin after the appropriate area has been released.
Avoid disturbing contaminated materials. You do not need to begin cleaning, removing belongings, or handling blood or bodily fluids yourself.
Contact CDE when you're ready. Tell us what you're facing. We'll ask the necessary questions and explain what the next steps may look like.
Consider contacting your insurance carrier. Depending on the circumstances and policy, some remediation expenses may be eligible for coverage. Coverage should never be guaranteed.
